Welcome to the B Mets!

Hello, Team and thanks for joining our team page at Teampages! You will find this site really useful for team communications (weather cancellations, parties, schedule changes, etc) and to share photos and videos privately with our team members! This is not meant to replace the main Tega Cay site but we will strive to keep this site in sync with any updates coming from the Parks and Recreation Department. Please feel free to complete your profile and upload pics. Any information about you, your child or family is also welcome.

Now for the fun stuff- Our Season! As you can tell, we are the B Mets this season after the NY Mets AA farm team based in Binghamton, NY. Tega Cay is providing hats and shirts (and I believe socks) for the season but not baseball pants. Ideally, all players will opt to purchase white pants but that is optional. (My wife found them on Amazon and there is always baseballsavings.com and Dick’s). Players will need a batting helmet and glove and should have their own bat as well. Protective cups are additional items you will want to have for your players.

We will be kicking things off on August 29th with a parent child instructional game and meeting where we will cover the basics of what the season will entail, some basic housekeeping and general expectations (we are working on a time/place now). We are inviting all parents to come ready to participate in this hour long session with your players -bring your gloves AND wear some athletic clothing. This will be an interactive session which will help you and your players connect through the game and ease their transition into the organized team only activities! Starting September 12th, practices/games will be held every Saturday with times and locations posted to this site.

In terms of what to expect, your coaches (my brother Jason and I) are very excited about this upcoming season as it will the first for our boys as I am sure it is for many of your children. We will look forward to making every week interesting and engaging for the players and parents with specific skills and goals to achieve. To that end, we are working on a schedule of weekly practice games that not only teach baseball but also teamwork and camaraderie. We believe in structure and team environment where everyone participates and has a great time doing it. From that perspective, we are really interested in having another parent join us in coaching the team and welcome any team parents to help with snacks and other team activities.

One last note, we might over communicate a bit but only because we know there is nothing more precious than your children and we want to respect the trust you have placed in us for this season. Any questions or concerns-please do not hesitate to ask at an appropriate time/place.

Looking forward to meeting you all on the 29th!
